About Metaphysical Mom

A saying from the Chinese goes, "The way it begins is the way it ends", so before I tell you a little about me, here's what I have set as my intention:

I am here only to be truly helpful. I am here to represent the One Who sent me. I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do, because the One Who sent me will direct me.

I am content to be wherever the One Who sent me wishes, knowing this One goes there with me. I will be healed as I let the One Who sent me teach me to heal.

When my eldest was born almost 26 years ago, I initially thought I'd be the one bringing home the bacon while Dad cared for Baby. I had another "think" coming - I fell madly in love with my son! I fell hard.

Because I was so in love with him and then with his younger brother and sister and have wanted ever since to keep my connection with them, it has been of paramount importance that I evolve and let go of any rigid ideas I have had about parenting and/or our respective roles (including being the parent of a teenager!)

Gary Zukav, in his book 'The Seat of the Soul', says we are evolving from five-sensory humans to multi-sensory humans. Our five senses are limited to perceiving the physical realm. As we become multi-sensory our perceptions extend beyond the physical to the invisible larger frame of reference of which the physical is only a part.

It has been my life's mission to support my three children's development as multi-sensory humans. I have adapted the teachings I have learned and used in my own spiritual practices of the last 30 years to make them 'kid-friendly'.

In my commitment to holistic parenting, I have also homeschooled all of my kids. I have a bunch of ideas to share.

In addition, for the last three decades, I have been an avid student of Natural Health. I had been studying until recently for my doctorate in Natural Health, until, that is, the college went 'belly-up'. I have used natural healing methods in our family with such success that if we ever had to go to the doctor's office to get forms signed for school, they have had to pull the family file from the 'inactives'. You'll find here a good explanation of Natural health and recommendations on using alternatives to conventional therapies.

As this website is a Celebration of Motherhood, It is dedicated to the Divine Mother Who cradles us, protects us and guides us, and Who loves US madly! We have been honored by the blessed beings of light we call our children in choosing us to be their mothers (parents)! I wish to gift to you and to your blessed beings of light whatever I can to assist you as we continue on our wondrous journey together. May we keep the light in their eyes aglow!
