Metaphysical Mom's Musings
This morning, I did something I haven’t done in ages. I turned on some meditative music, lit a candle, and settled into my quiet time with a warm cup of coffee in hand. It felt like a homecoming for my soul—one I didn’t realize I’d been yearning for so deeply. Lately, I’ve craved a sense of contentment, a stillness that soothes the spirit. Returning to this simple ritual felt like the answer I’d been searching for.
To deepen the experience, I pulled three tarot cards to reflect on my past, present, and future. Here’s what they revealed:
The Nine of Cups greeted me first, a card of satisfaction and appreciation for emotional and material accomplishments. Looking back, I can see why it appeared. I’ve built a life filled with loving, committed family relationships and a home that promises to nurture us in countless ways. This card feels like a gentle nod to the blessings I’ve cultivated—acknowledging the joy in what’s already mine.
Next came The Star, a card that’s shown up for me three times recently (once as a future clarifier, then in the past, and now the present). Its message is one of renewal, faith, and spirituality—a call to personal growth through a renewed appreciation for my blessings. Today, it feels perfectly aligned with this quiet moment. My soul is stirring, ready to sing its gratitude, and The Star reflects this reawakening beautifully.
For the future, I drew The Hierophant. At first, I bristled at the guidebook’s interpretation—it didn’t quite fit. So, I turned to Biddy Tarot for clarity, and one phrase leapt out: “Commit to a regular spiritual practice.” That hit home. This card isn’t about rigid tradition for me; it’s an invitation to root myself in something sacred and consistent, a structure that supports my soul’s growth.
Curious about The Hierophant’s message, I pulled a clarifier: the Page of Swords. Upright, this card bursts with energy, passion, and enthusiasm—new ideas and bold ways of expressing oneself, especially through communication (a hallmark of the Swords suit). But here’s the twist: when I looked at the card, it was reversed. At first, I dismissed it—my whole deck was upside down, after all. Yet, something nudged me to explore the reversed meaning, and I’m so glad I did.
The Page of Swords reversed suggests sharing my message “from the rooftop” with fervor, but also with focus—tackling one thing at a time instead of scattering my energy. It’s a reminder to temper my excitement with intention.
As I sit with these cards, the story they tell feels clear and resonant. The Nine of Cups celebrates the contentment I’ve found in my past achievements. The Star mirrors my present renewal, a rekindling of faith and gratitude. And The Hierophant, clarified by the reversed Page of Swords, points me toward a future of recommitment—building a spiritual practice that’s steady and purposeful, then sharing its light with passion and care.
This morning’s ritual wasn’t just a fleeting moment; it was a doorway. My soul is finding solace in the return to stillness, and these cards are guiding me to make it a rhythm. I’m ready to let my spirit sing, to shout my blessings from the rooftop—one inspired step at a time.
